Fast sports cars are one of the most demanding segment in the car business.

One of the staples of the Coupe segment is the Infiniti G37. In the previous model year debuted a brand new version of the G37 with three versions: Base, Journey, and Sport. Sales for the G37, especially the G37 Base, were brisk during 2008 and 2009. The improved vehicle quality and the updated styling were responsible for the sales boost.

2008 Infiniti G37 Base Specs

Standard equipment in the G37 for 2007 and 2008 includes the 3.7 liter engine by Nissan, weighing in at 6 cylinders and twenty four valves. The engine is mated to a Jatco 5-speed Transmission. This configuration has proven to be a successful design for Infiniti.

The 2008 G37’s exceptional fuel system runs on gas. The fuel is regulated electronically, with a fuel-injected MFI style of design. The fuel capacity of the car is 20.00 gallons.

Steering control is handled through a power-steering rack-style configuration. The G37 has power-assisted brakes, with 4-Wheel ABS support. The front brakes are disc while the rear brakes are disc. The car uses coil front springs and coil in the rear.

Vehicle Statistics

The G37 is 183.10 inches long, 71.80 inches wide, and 54.80 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 112.20 inches. It is able to seat 4 comfortably.

The original manufacturer suggested retail price (MSRP) was $34,250 when new, with a dealer invoice cost of $31,497. This price was in line with the industry average price for a 2-door Coupe.

The standard warranty period for the G37 is 48 months, or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first. The warranty also includes a warranty on the powertrain for 72 months or 70,000 miles respectively. This is standard in the coupe market.

Fuel Efficiency

The 2008 G37 gets 23 miles/gallon on the highway and only 17 in the city. This is subpar for a coupe car.

In Summary

The 2007 model began the promise of the luxury car market. The 2008 expanded on this success and has proven to be a strong seller in most markets. Even with strong competition from other manufacturers Infiniti hopes that the G37 Base will continue to be a profitable vehicle.

Finally, the Infiniti rates excellent when it comes to buying inexpensive auto insurance. Be confident in your choice.
