Differences between a Used Transmission and a Reconditioned Transmission.

Reconditioned transmission,
In the last few years a Second hand transmission has proven to be a cost effective and reliable way to solve a Transmission repair problem. I like the fact that it was brand new at one point and has never been worked on before. If the factory did the job right and the car had no Transmission repair history, than in most cases that is a solid choice. Transmission parts are made on Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) machines that produce a perfect part every time.

Don’t confuse a Second hand transmission with a Reconditioned transmission. They are an entirely different Second hand transmission procedure.

Automatic transmissions are a mystery of modern technology. It was that way in the late ’40’s when they were introduced, and has continued as they have evolved with time. A puzzle for most people. The most qualified people I know of are the experts at GotTransmsissons.com. You can talk to a person who can help educate you and help you decide if a low mileage Second hand transmission is in your best interest. Brian, the gentleman who owns GotTranmssions.com has done the footwork and has qualified them as the finest Second hand transmission purveyor on the market. Obviously making one call instead of ten phone calls to find the best Second hand transmission saves time and money.

Used transmission
Before you even drive the vehicle with a Second hand transmission installed, it must be maintained. After you have installed the transmission it is common for a Transmission repair shop to maintain it first. This will give you a starting point to know when you should maintain it next time.

We all know the value of miabtenance and how it affects any transmissions life span. Especially a Second hand transmission with low miles on it. The only transmission fluid to use is exactly what the factory recommends. Most Transmission repair shops use a synthetic blend or full synthetic fluids nowadays. Using the best lubricants possible is a sign that the Transmission repair facility is doing the best job possible.

Good luck and consider a Second hand transmission as one choice that is affordable and effective.

Synthetic Lubricants for Automatic Or Standard transmissions

manual or automatic shift
All manual or automatic shift transmissions need maintenance, It is literally a life or death situation if you miss a service or don’t use the correct fluid, such as synthetic lubricants. No other part of your vehicle need to be taken care of as diligently as your manual or automatic shift transmission.

The choices are clear in terms of using synthetic lubricants or synthetic lubricants for the job. Synthetic transmission fluids have more load bearing capacity and will survive under extreme heat or cold better than old fashioned conventional lubricants. If your vehicle need maintenance, it is wise to make sure you stick to the factory time and mileage limits and use the proper fluids.

Obviously a manual or automatic shift transmission that is for commercial purposes need maintenance more often due to the extra heat generated and breakdown of the fluids. Which ever you choose in terms of synthetic lubricants should be the best on the market. This is a bad area to cut corners.

warrant a fluid change
A work truck or commercial vehicle that has the manual or automatic shift transmission in it should have some external cooling hooked up to help get maximum life out of your manual or automatic shift. Heat is any transmissions enemy. By using the correct lubrication and doing it at the appropriate time and mileage you van expect to have a nice long trouble free relationship with your manual or automatic shift transmission.

Take the time to make maintenance important to your manual or automatic shift transmission and don’t have a transmission emergency.

Making maintenance and service procedures important is like getting your teeth cleaned. By cleaning your teeth, you stand a good chance of not have your teeth pulled out, which is an emergency.. The point is that by making certain procedures important, such as when your vehicle may need maintenance, you can prevent big time emergencies.

Personally, when my manual or automatic shift transmission need maintenance, I do it early to prevent such catastrophic problems from occurring.

Good luck and enjoy.
