Choosing an International Moving Company
Finding a company that will move your belongings overseas is a big step in the moving process. You must consider costs, customer service, time frame, and other important objectives. Of course, learning all of these things will require some work on your part, but it will be well worth it to find a moving company that will give you top performance and great service as you make your international move.
Before you make any calls, do some research and learn exactly how international moving companies operate and what they may be able to do to help your move go more smoothly. For example, are you moving a whole family that will need a house and schooling right away? Will you need help with packing your belongings or will you pack everything? Will you move all of your belongings or sell your things and buy new things once you have settled overseas? Do you need international auto shipping services to transport your car abroad? You need some kind of an idea of what you expect from an international moving company before you can expect them to be able to give you ideas or a quote.
Another thing that can help you choose an international moving company is to get recommendations from friends and family. Do your research by asking around, reading reviews and learning everything you can about various moving companies. It might even be helpful to keep a notebook of the various companies you are considering, the services they offer, their contact information, and other important features that you want to remember.
It’s important to find a business that not only moves people, but that particularly specializes in international moving. In other words, moving internationally should not just be another option, but it should be their area of expertise. There are many moving companies that advertise for international moving, but upon investigation, you will learn that this is not their specialty, but something they do on the side. The problem with this is that companies who do mostly national or state-to-state moving are not aware of the many rules and regulations of overseas countries. If you are planning on shipping to Spain, for example, you will need particular papers and forms in order to get into the country. On the other hand, if you are moving to India, there will be very different policies that must be followed. Rules and regulations for relocating to India will not be the same as moving to another country. Only a business that specializes in international moving will know these important pieces of information.
Moving is an expensive endeavor. You will obviously want to spend some time comparing costs of moving your belongings overseas. Again, recording everything in your notebook will help you remember things and keep track of what costs and services are offered by each company. Your estimated shipping cost will be based on the weight of your belongings. There are two ways that things are transported abroad – by air or by sea. Moving your things by air is much faster, but is definitely more expensive. Moving by cargo ship is much cheaper, but of course, takes quite a big longer. When you consider various estimates, be careful if a company offers a substantially lower cost than other companies. When comparing costs between various moving companies, make sure you compare the same services . For example, while one company may seem to have cheaper rates, you may learn that they are not giving the same service as another company that is giving a higher estimate.
Customer service is another important factor to consider. You should call the international shipping company and ask some very specific questions. There are questions that will apply to you and your situation that you may not find on websites or literature. Therefore, when you call, you should be treated with courtesy and all of your questions should be answered.
Last, but not least, you should trust your instincts. After doing all of your homework, comparing companies and talking to someone, you should have a really optimistic feeling about a particular company. If there is doubt in your mind, you need to continue your search for a company that you feel comfortable about. Finding an international shipping company is one important factor in your move that you should not have to worry about. Do your research and you will quickly find a company that meets your international moving needs.

What is service advisor training and why should you consider investing in it? One sharp advantage is that with a good service advisor you can see an increase in sales made through the business. Plus you can actually gain more customers if your service advisor knows what to do!
The premise is simple. A customer comes in for service, they receive better than normal service, and they then share that information with friends. Whenever that other person needs service, you will have them come to your company. With the training of your service advisor you can ensure those customers always get the best service.
For many years it was a position that many companies wouldn’t pay attention to. Extra training, if any, was rarely provided for this position of service advisor. That would naturally hurt not only the business but also the employee from doing a job that was well above what people were looking for.
Any business owner should already know that when your employees don’t perform well, your business will suffer. A person, who isn’t knowledgeable about things or simply does a poor job, will hurt you more than most other things. You can avoid that happening to your business with the proper training being done for all positions in your company.
Not only that, but a well-trained service advisor is going to get you sales too. They are your point of contact for any irate customers. Handling these people in the right manner will help the reputation of your business and bring in more people.
You need to focus on the fact that a service advisor is actually also a sales person. They may be the one person who talks the customer into more service being needed. In order to do this, however, they will either need to be a natural salesperson or have the right training.
In order for your service advisor to do their job well they will need to know how to handle three different types of customers. First will be the customer who needs service. Those people may be the easiest to make extra sales to, but only if your advisor has been trained properly.
Next will be the customer who is only calling about prices or services that are available. This will be when the proper training can really come through for you and your advisor. Knowledge and training used together will be able to talk this customer into your business as the place they should go.
They may just be calling to see if it’s a repair they will be able to do themselves. A trained service advisor will be one who can talk them into coming to the business, getting that checkup and getting the service all done at your business.
Finally, the last kind of customer they can be trained to deal with, is the one whose car is already in the shop and doesn’t want the Automotive service trainer. A lot of these customers may be a bit more difficult to sell extra services to, but with that Service advisor training, they can make anything possible.
