Daytona Beach has a lot going for it but one of the best things to do during the beginning of July is to attend the Coke Zero 400 while looking for the best Florida travel experience available. You will see the best NASCAR drivers compete with each other on the 31 degree bank track. Being one of the longest running NASCAR events, this race has the privilege of attracting the best of the best in the race to the checkered flag.
Thanks to lights being installed by MUSCO lighting the race could be moved from the morning to the evening to allow for you to spend a great night at the races. With the Florida weather usually providing a good day of heat and rain in the afternoon the races used to be run in the morning. Now both drivers and fans can spend a night at the races.
With the talents of such drivers as Jeff Gordon, John Andretti, Dale Earnhardt, Jr. and Tony Stewart being among the winners in the past and Kyle Busch winning in 2008 you will be able to see the best of the best compete.
For years it looked like if you wanted to win the Coke Zero 400 in Daytona you would need to be driving either a Ford or a Chevrolet with a combined win record of 28 races. Mercury made a showing with 7 wins and in 2008 Toyota actually came out on top of the list.
Competing against the best drivers and cars created for racing is the thrill for all the drivers that compete in the Coke 400. The track is the same one that holds the NASCAR season opener, the Daytona 500 in Daytona Beach, Florida every year. The 480 acre motor sports complex is the perfect venue for the 160 lap, 400 mile challenge of the mid-season for NASCAR to provide to the fans and drivers – that if you can get some Coke zero 400 tickets.
There are some rather strict rules about what you can and can’t bring into the races. You can’t bring a cooler filled with beer or soda, you can only have a 6×6x12 soft sided bag (cooler) which will hold a scanner bag, a fanny pack, a purse, a diaper bag, or a binocular bag, etc.
For the most pleasant Dayton Beach, Florida experience – you can bring one clear plastic bag to hold your goodies in but that can only be 18 X 18 X 4 inches, to accommodate samples received and purchases made after fans have parked their cars. If you want to bring along a camera, headsets, camera or binoculars that are not in the ONE bag then you will have to have them on a strap around your neck. Don’t plan on bringing the little ones along in a stroller, strollers are not allowed inside. Neither are umbrellas so if it rains, you get wet.
