The Perfect Sport Utility Vehicle – Spacious, Comfortable And Safe!

You gotta love SUVs! They’re big, roomy, and more importantly, a lot Safe than typical cars. Although a few people may argue that they’re just too big, uneconomical cars which guzzle precious fuel and make the planet uninhabitable, they just cannot deny that if they had to put their priceless newborn kids inside an automobile, would they opt for a plastic box on wheels powered by a battery, or a big, huge, but impenetrable SUV – I’m certain the decision would definitely be the latter.

Arguments apart, let’s get on with what the best SUV 2012 is normally used for. For most part, I’ll function akin to a school bus with numerous kids involved, or, it may actually be used for what it was initially built for in the first place – spanning tough terrain and visiting those places which civilization hasn’t yet seen. Whatever the purpose, there is definitely an SUV for you.

At the start, it must be mentioned that the now that you may no longer buy a Hummer H1 Alpha, the best SUV by far, when considering luxury, functionality, reliability and capability is the Range Rover. Available with a big V8 gasoline engine (with or without a supercharger), you can’t go wrong with either one you choose. The disadvantage though, is the price – around $80,000, with the top-end version crossing the $100,000 barrier!

If Land Rover’s flagship doesn’t appeal to you, there are two other amazing SUVs from their stable – the LR4 is another well put together creation and goes about it’s business in a no-nonsense fashion, along with the build quality and capability of a battle tank. Also, at it’s price, it does seem like a good deal! Then there’s the Range Rover Sport, that is an endeavor to make the king of the jungle look more civilized – as a lion actually wearing a crown, if you will.

Toyota comes to mind too, with their famous Landcruiser. A big, relaxing and extremely reliable gentle giant. It will obey your every command without question, and will never turn it’s back on you. And it’s armed with a gigantic V8 gasoline engine that would put out the fire in any further questions. Certainly, there’s an alternative to that too, within their stable – the Sequoia. It is slightly bigger than the big LC (yes, surprising, don’t you think!) but just as capable as well as with a choice of two V8 gas engines at a good price, great value too.

Then certainly, you get the well known names – the Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Suburban, Ford Expedition. First of all, the Escalade. It is the most costly of the lot, but provides the most amount of traditional luxury with it. Very capable in either situation – on and off road, it makes a solid statement for itself. The Suburban is undoubtedly, the biggest of the lot, with amazing space and good towing potential – it is a smart choice if you too often travel with family and a lot else in tow.

The Expedition not only is the smallest in size, but also possesses the smallest engine of the lot – that is stating something since even considering that it is, it’s still a large V8 after all. And it isn’t any less competent either. A test drive of each must take care of all doubts and help with the assessment.

Of course, before any buying decision, make sure you take a look at all the alternatives and consider which is the best SUV for you, instead of basing your selection on what the one you’ve zeroed in on is capable of.
