Several Considerations to Make Before Purchasing A Pre Owned Harley Davidson Motorcycle

There are several things to consider when shopping for a used Harley Davidson Motorcycle, price of course being the main consideration and also the condition of the bike, mileage, year and model. These are the basics.

Probably the best place to start your search would be your local Harley dealer; they usually have a line of previously owned Harleys. Harley dealers can help you chose which bike best suits you and how you ride.

Research, research, research, before you buy. This is after all, a big decision you are making and you need all the info you can get before you buy. You need to know about the financing, what the bike going to cost you every month.

Now with the information from the dealer you have a much clearer view of what type of Harley you are looking for. Now you can shop around with the confidence of knowing what to look for as far as the best motorcycle for you.

Start looking through the local classifieds, Penny Saver and other free weekly papers as well as the motorcycle classifieds online. Craigslist is a great source for vehicles for sale.

Once you have found the Harley of your dreams, a thorough inspection is due.

Begin with the overall appearance of the motorcycle. Look for scratches or dents. Look for paint fade. Tires, how do they look? Feel the motor. Check the odometer, check the condition of the brakes, hoses and wires, looking for cracks, leaks and especially electrical tape, you don not even want to go down a bad wiring road!

Ask the owner to start the bike and watch to see if he uses any special technique in doing so, other than normal. While it is running, check out the lights, turn indicators and brake lights for both foot and hand brakes. Listen for any abnormal sounds. Listen for exhaust leaks.

During the test ride, feel for any unusual sensations, are there any extreme vibrations other than ordinary with a Harley? Does the bike pull left or right, check how it shifts, smooth and easy? Does it stop smoothly, or do you feel a vibration in the handle bars? How does it handle in a curve? Does the front wheel spin freely or is there a wobble?

After the test ride check the bike over again. Check the oil, is it clean, what is the level? If it is low or dirty it could be a problem. Make sure the VIN number matches the title.

One final consideration, knowing which Harley to buy can be a task. It is recommended by Laidlaws Harley Davidson rental that you rent a Harley first. Spend some time riding the different models before you buy a new or used Harley to make sure you are buying the right bike for you. Harley rentals are affordable and worth the experience you will receive before making that commitment on a new or used bike.

Ways Of Finding The Lowest Prices on a Used Car

It’s many years since low prices on a used car have been so much in demand as today, a demand most of us attributes to the economical circumstances the financial crisis has created. Although you can’t expect to get this year’s models at price like this, you can expect a safe car that are functioning normally.

Here are three sources of very cheap used cars.

Government Car Auctions

Government car auctions are probably the best places to look right now if you want dirt cheap vehicles. Although you might not see it the first time you enter an auction, you can be pretty sure it won’t take long time before you find a decent car for an amazingly low price.

Car Auction Web Sites

Auction web sites are very easy and convenient to access and you can find the lowest prices on a used car from your home. The most famous and biggest auction site on the net is eBay but there are also numerous of sites that have specialized in auctioning various items, for example car auction sites. The top auto auction sites are updated continuously with the newest offers.

Go to eBay and type ‘cars’ plus the amount you want to spend – let’s say $600 or less – in the eBay search bar and you will get a list of vehicles according to the specification in your search query. You can go to another auction site by entering ‘cars’ plus for example ‘for less than $600′ in a search engine.

Classified Ads

Penny Saver, Craigslist and other classifieds is another great source of dirt cheap automobiles. Online classifieds are great to start with because it’s simple and convenient and doesn’t cost you a nickel. As soon as you find a cheap used car that you want, contact the owner and make an offer. Await their answer. Buying dirt cheap vehicles from people in a desperate need for cash means you have to be on the alert. It’s not uncommon that the owner is removing certain parts from the vehicle that is difficult for the buyer to see, especially when it is purchased online. The best way to protect yourself against such frauds is to have a sales form containing all the appropriate terms of contract and signed by the seller and yourself.

Don’t forget the local newspaper and their classified section; you can find many cheap used cars there. As already mentioned you should get a contract or bill of sale printable form that both you and the seller sign. Follow the rules which are the same whether you purchase online or off line with the lowest prices on a used car there is.
